[Motown Writers Network] Available Soon From Amazon.com: "REFLECTIONS OF...A Dia

You can order my poetry book which is now available to order. I am uploading the front and back cover. The poems range from love, sexuality, spirituality, to music and poetry.

Why did you write the book? I wrote the book because I felt called to do so. I've written many poems but there were a select few that I wanted to put into the book. I felt I had stories inside that needed to be expressed badly. This book really talks about such a variety of topics such as self discoveries, music, poetry, relationships, fantasy, spirituality and a little bit of sexuality. My passion for fantasy is why I wrote the poem "The Fantasy Destination", passion for music include "King of Pop" about the late great Michael Joseph Jackson. I also wrote poems that speak deep from the heart such as "Father figure" and that touch the imagination like the poem "Curiosity". I was able to self publish and self edit this first poetry project and I'm glad that I did.

What lessons learned will the reader take from this book?
The lessons I hope readers learn is to speak from their heart and to read. You can always say what you have to say even if you want to word it a different way.  Readers can know that they don't have to wait on someone elses approval before they can write and publish their own poetry book.

April Kenyatta "Aries" Garner was born and raised in Michigan. As early as April can remember, she has always written poetry, short stories and a few short plays. At age 5, April met the legendary Nikki Giovanni at a local mall as she was promoting a children's book. From age 5, April started drawing and writing stories because creativity has always been her passion. Freelance writing is another passion for April, she wrote for Davenport University's school newspaper and for local magazines such as Ferndale Friends and the Examiner. A few years ago, April also met the late great E. Lynn Harris. Captured by his autobiography "What becomes of the brokenhearted" "I could relate to his pain" and his real story about his life,  April set out to write her autobiography.  But decided that her first book would be a biographical poetry book. An artistic type, April also pursued her love for acting at Detroit Repertory Theater by performing on stage. Everyone says April's personality comes alive when she's on television or in front of a large audience. As a caller said on April's first radio show interview," April writes from the heart!"
