Publishing Secrets, Part 1 - How to Produce E-Books on the Fly

Creating and publishing it is very easy. You only have to spend about two hours worth of work to create an e-book, publish it and upload it to e-book sites. An e-book is usually used to build up your newsletter subscribers so that you can market to them. Once created, your e-book will continue generating leads continuously without any more work on your part.

As soon as you see how powerful yet simple this is, you'll want to do it over and over again.

Here are the steps you should follow to make this all work for you.

1. Give away your e-book.

2. Make your book lockable.

3. Find the best places on the internet to upload your e-book to.

4. Use an auto-responder to collect the names and e-mail addresses of leads you gather from giving away your books.

I'll expand on each of these points for you. What this article will cover is how to quickly create your e-book, get it published and then give it away.

You might want to use an existing book if you have one. If not, don't worry and don't be afraid if the idea of writing an e-book is too daunting for you. "Private Label Rights" (PLR) products will provide you with the quickest way possible to get an e-book published. Doing a simple Google search will provide numerous products. After you find an e-book that you want to use, make sure it comes with giveaway rights. Without giveaway rights, a PLR e-book is useless.

When you have found a suitable product for your niche market, download it to your hard drive, unzip it and check to make sure that everything is there. A good quality PLR book will probably include a text version of the book as a Word document so that you can easily modify it. Before you go ahead and make any changes, you will want to read through the book carefully to make sure that it is a good quality product. Look for errors, typos and anything that doesn't make sense. You don't want to give away junk as this will ultimately hurt your online business.

What should you modify?

You'll want to first change the title of the e-book. Be sure to include your most important keyword phrase. It is essential to get the title right to attract a great amount of targeted traffic, so take some time to think about the keywords you use in your title.

Next, you'll want to add your name to the title page of the book. You could also add an introductory paragraph where you use your name, and also place your name and website link at the end of the book. A footer would be a good place to put this information in your e-book

Once you make all of your changes, convert the modified Word document to a PDF file with Adobe Reader. If you don't have Word and Adobe you can do all of this using openoffice.org.

After completing these steps, you'll have an book in which you can promote your online business.
