Article Distribution - The Fastest Way to Build Quality Inbound Links

By Sean R Mize

It's every internet marketer's dream to get their websites to appear on top 10 search page results. These people are aware that when that happens, they'll be guaranteed of enormous traffic that will definitely lead to more sales leads and revenue.

There are so many ways to improve your page rank. One of the best and most popular is article distribution or article marketing. This is the process of submitting short and informative articles to several directories. Article marketers are allowed to insert their site's URL and talk about their products and services on the resource or author box. If their articles are accepted by the publishers, they'll instantly get quality inbound links for their site. As you know, inbound links are being considered by search engines when they're indexing websites. The more links pointing to your site, the better page rank you'll get.

If you're really serious about outplaying your competitors, you must find ways to build unlimited links for your site. There's two ways to do this. First, multiply the number of articles that you produce. If you're busy to do that, I recommend that you ask for the help of freelance article writers. Then, distribute your articles to all popular directories, ezines, and relevant blogs. Yes, it will take a lot of time but you can be assured that it will worth it. If you do this on a regular basis, you'll have better chances of getting your website to appear on the top 10 search page results.

Some Powerful Tips to succeed in article distribution

Article marketing or article distribution is really effective in pulling up page rank and in attracting high quality traffic. But remember, it will only work to your advantage if you do the process right. Here are some tips to keep in mind to ensure your success in this field:

Offer quality articles. Some article marketers tend to sacrifice the quality of their articles in their attempt to multiply their copies. This is something that you must not do at all cost. Remember, you're trying to win the trust and confidence of your readers and that will not happen if they're not impressed with your articles. So, ensure that you give these people great reading and learning experience. Load your articles with useful, valuable information and ensure that they're well-written and interesting to read.

Make your resource box powerful. Get more people to click through your resource box by simply making it enticing and very powerful. Tell your readers who you are, what you do, and give them reasons to trust you. Insert your site's URL using anchor texts. Some directories will allow you to use up to 3 links. Before you push that publish button, ensure that you use the preview feature first. This is to make sure that your articles will appear exactly how you want them to and that your links are working just fine.

[Motown Writers Network] Fw: FREE IS MY LIFE fwd: REVIEW: "Essence of Motown Lit

REVIEW: "Essence of Motown Literary Conference" - Is there a Book in you?

Essence of Motown Literary Conference
Nov 13 - Northwest Activity Center

On Saturday, November 13th, I attended the Essence of Motown Literary Conference at the Northwest Activity Center on Detroit's Northwest side.  I was invited to attend the conference by it's organizer Sylvia Hubbard. Oprah better move over because Sylvia is a mom, a blogger, an author of 14 books, an editor, a self publisher, the founder of the Michigan Writers Network, and the owner of a literary radio network. Sylvia has been a very supportive follower of my blog and I was very pleased and honored when I received her invitation to attend this conference.

Is there a Book in YOU?
Even though I write as part of blogging, there is no way that I consider myself a writer. But the theme of this conference "Is There a Book in You?" did make me wonder what goes into being a published author and this conference gave me a brief, but very informative look into the business of book publishing.

During the conference, I met some wonderful people who were all at different stages in their books. I met the "want a be" writers who have not yet started a book, but really want to be authors one day. I also met the writers who have started one or more books, but have yet to finish any of them. Most of the writers that I met have finished their books and are in the process of getting them published. And this is where the Essence of Motown Literary Conference plays a role in educating writers on the process of publishing their books.

Education is Key in the Business of Book Publishing
Sylvia started the Essence of Motown Literary Conference to educate writers because she was sick of seeing writers being taken advantage of by predatory publishers. If writers are not careful they can spend thousands of dollars with the wrong publisher and have nothing to show for their money. This conference featured workshops and panel discussions on writing, publishing, and marketing. Writers could also get 1:1 help with publisher pitches, social media coaching, and manuscript critiques.

Author Valerie L. Coleman
Book Publishing 101
Most of my book reading these days are e-books and Sylvia did a wonderful session on self publishing e-books. It turns out most of the same rules that apply to regular publishing also are part of e-publishing and there is precise formatting needed to submit a book to an e-publisher.  One of the best sessions that I attended was by Valerie L. Coleman who is an author, editor, and publisher. Valerie's session called "Self-Publishing Made Easy Cash Machine!" was fast paced and delved into many of the aspects of self publishing from setting up an LLC and obtaining a vendor's license to how to get a copyright and how much to spend on printing.  Valerie was funny, informative and a "trial by fire" expert in the area of self-publishing. She is also pretty darn good with branding since everything from her books to her business cards leads back to her website called PenOfTheWritER.com.

Relentless Aaron
A Brand called Relentless
The keynote speaker at the conference luncheon was Relentless Aaron.  I will admit I did not know anything about Relentless Aaron before I read his bio at the conference, but I have to say I was impressed by how much he has been able to accomplish in the literary world dispute some very bad setbacks in life.  Relentless Aaron is the author of 30 books that focus on street culture, most of which he wrote while in prison. Writing allowed him to be in his own world during his incarceration where he was able to observe human nature and routines as the basis for his stories. He took the brand "Relentless" to express how he planned to live his life in pursuit of his dreams. He spoke about how all his experiences built one upon the other and when he was ready to put in the work, how everything came together in the form of book deals, magazine publishing and television shows. He stressed that there is a book within everyone and all that is needed is the "relentless" drive to bring it out.

I totally enjoyed my time at the Essence of Motown Literary Conference. I love learning new things and I was overloaded with new information about self publishing. While I don't know if there is a book in me, I do know where to go to get one published thanks to Sylvia Hubbard :).

Article Marketing Tips - How to Do the Process Right

Sadly, some of these people are not even aware on how to do the entire process right. This is the reason why they fail miserably in this endeavor. This article is for them. In here, I'll share some useful tips and techniques to put these people back on the right track. If you're one of them, you better read on!

Quantity vs. Quality. I am not going to deny that article marketing is a game of numbers. Article marketers are right when they say that more articles will most likely to lead to success. But if you sacrifice the quality of your articles along the way, there's no way that you can reap the kind of rewards that you're hoping for. You see, your articles, no matter how many they are, will not help you convert your readers to potential clients if they're useless or considered a piece of garbage. Who would trust you if you cannot even produce decent articles? So, keep in mind that the quality of your articles is the top priority here. Give your readers articles that are very informative, useful, and enjoyable to read and you can be assured that they'll click through your resource box.

Use mind-blowing titles. One of the most common mistakes of some article marketers is that they don't care about the kinds of titles that they're using. As long as they can put something on the headlines, they're fine with it. The danger in doing this is that you run the risk of leaving your articles unread or unopened. If online users do not find your titles to be interesting, they will not possibly waste their time on your articles. You don't want that to happen, right? So, take the time and exert as much effort as possible to ensure that your titles are nothing but perfect. They must be extremely catchy and thought-provoking. I suggest you communicate the strongest benefits that your articles can offer and that you summarize the gist of your content.

Use as many article directories as possible. Give your articles more exposure by simply distributing them on sites that have impressive page ranking and those sites that can attract thousands of people from across the globe worldwide. You can skip those sites that are not really popular and those that are not indexed by major search engines as they are considered waste of time and energy.

Offer fresh information. Don't be one of those article marketers who are too lazy to do their research and those who just rewrite the articles they see online. To ensure that your articles will stand out from the crowd, you better do extensive research and find fresh information that your readers will surely love to know.

By the way, do you want to learn more about using articles like this to drive traffic to your website and increase online conversions?

52 Great Blogs for Self-Publishers

Post image for 52 Great Blogs for Self-Publishers

Editor's note: This is an updated version of a post originally titled 36 Great Blogs for Self-Publishers. I'll be taking the next a couple of days off. I wish you and those close to you a fulfilling holiday, and I'll see you on Friday. Thanks for reading!

I guess the first really "social" media was blogs. Blogs were an early sign of a fundamental shift in the media firmament. The idea that the broadcaster (the blogger) would interact directly with the audience (the readers) was explosive. And given the chance, we became social to an extent undreamed of before social media roared to life.

Blogs have become one the largest sources of news, information and opinion in the media landscape. There are few newspapers, fewer television stations. But there are millions of blogs.

Blogs for Self-Publishers

For the latest news, trends and analysis In self-publishing, support for writers, insight into the publishing process, and the transition to digital books, these are the blogs I read. No, they aren't all self-publishers or even self-publishing advocates, and their appearance on this list doesn't imply any kind of approval on their part.

No, I've curated this list myself. We need a lot of perspectives to really see the field of indie publishing. Change in the publishing industry is accelerating. Every blog on this list teaches me about how to publish, what to publish, and what's coming in indie publishing. I hope you enjoy them.

Because you may want to click away from the list to visit these blogs, here's a link you can bookmark when you want to come back:

Can Facebook Stop Other Sites

From Using "[Fill-In-The-Blank] Book"?

Owners of the website, Lamebook, filed a lawsuit earlier this month in federal court in Texas against social networking giant, Facebook, seeking a declaration that its site doesn't infringe Facebook's intellectual property rights.  Lamebook is a self-described parody site which, according to Lamebook's complaint, features "funny, absurd and often lame" content from actual Facebook posts.  Lamebook further states that it is not a social networking site and therefore doesn't compete with Facebook.

One week after Lamebook brought its action, Facebook filed its own lawsuit against Lamebook in federal court in California alleging trademark infringement, trademark dilution and related claims.  This isn't the first time that Facebook has sought to prevent others from using the suffix "book" in a website name.  In August, Facebook sued Teachbook, a social networking site for teachers, claiming both infringement and dilution of the "book" portion of Facebook's trademark.

In its complaints against both Teachbook and Lamebook, Facebook claims that its mark could become generic if other social networking sites are allowed to use "book" as a suffix.  Lamebook has asserted that its site is a parody site protected by the First Amendment and/or the "fair use" doctrine, which is a legally recognized defense to trademark infringement.  For more information about the lawsuits, follow this link.

Amazon.com Launches Amazon Studios -- a New Online Business to Discover New Talent and Develop Motion Pictures

Amazon.com Launches Amazon Studios -- a New Online Business to Discover New Talent and Develop Motion Pictures
Amazon Studios will award filmmakers and screenwriters $2.7 million with the purpose of developing movies under a first-look deal with Warner Bros. Pictures

SEATTLE, Nov 16, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) today launched Amazon Studios (http://studios.amazon.com), a new online business that invites filmmakers and screenwriters around the world to submit full-length movies and scripts to make money, get discovered and get their movie made. Through the monthly and annual Amazon Studios Awards, Amazon Studios will offer a total of $2.7 million to the top submissions received by Dec. 31, 2011, and will seek to develop the top Amazon Studio projects as commercial feature films under its first-look deal with Warner Bros. Pictures.

Writers are invited to add scripts to Amazon Studios. Filmmakers are invited to add full-length test movies to Amazon Studios. Test movies may be made from your own original script or from any script submitted to Amazon Studios. Test movies must be full length (more than 70 minutes), but they don't have to be "full budget." While test movies must include imaginative stories with great acting and sound they don't need to have theatrical-quality production values. Film fans can review Amazon Studios scripts and test movies, or even upload alternate, revised versions. Full-length test movies will introduce public test screenings to the earliest, formative stages of the movie development process; the Amazon Studios test movie process is intended to guide a film's development and assess its potential. Amazon Studios has produced five test movie samples, in different styles and genres, which can be found on its Getting Started page (http://studios.amazon.com/getting-started).

"We are excited to introduce writers, filmmakers and movie lovers to Amazon Studios," said Roy Price, Director of Digital Product Development. "Full-length test movies will show stories up on their feet and attract helpful feedback at an early stage. We hope that Amazon Studios will help filmmakers experiment and collaborate and we look forward to developing hit movies."

It is the goal of Amazon Studios to produce new, full-budget theatrical films based on the best projects and it will give Warner Bros. Pictures first access to the projects Amazon Studios wishes to produce in cooperation with an outside studio. Under the Amazon Studios development agreement, if a filmmaker or screenwriter creates a project with an original script and it is released by Amazon Studios as a theatrical feature film, the submitter will receive a rights payment of $200,000; if the movie makes over $60 million at the U.S. box office, the original filmmaker or screenwriter will receive a $400,000 bonus. If Warner Bros. Pictures is not inclined to develop a particular project, Amazon Studios can then produce the project in cooperation with another studio.

Winning screenplays and full-length test movies will be selected on the basis of commercial viability, which will include consideration of premise, story, character, dialogue, emotion and other elements of great movies. The first Amazon Studios industry panelists will include: screenwriter and chair, Writing Division of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Jack Epps, Jr. ("Top Gun," "Dick Tracy"), producer Mark Gill (former president of Miramax and Warner Independent Pictures), screenwriter Mike Werb ("Lara Croft: Tomb Raider," "Curious George," "Face/Off," "The Mask") and producer and chair, Production Division of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Michael Taylor ("Bottle Rocket," "The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper").

"Amazon Studios is a great idea. Getting feedback is essential for creative artists to improve their work," said Jack Epps, writing chair for USC School of Cinematic Arts. "By letting anyone submit a movie or screenplay to be considered for a major motion picture, Amazon Studios is really opening the doors to Hollywood."

In the 2011 Annual Awards, Amazon Studios will award $100,000 to the best script and $1 million to the best movie submitted by December 31, 2011. To be eligible for the first monthly awards, test movies and scripts must be uploaded by January 31, 2011. Winners for the first monthly awards will be announced near the end of February 2011-- $100,000 for the best full-length test movie and $20,000 each for the two best scripts. The rights payments associated with releasing a full-budget commercial film (the $200,000 referred to above) are separate from and come on top of any money awarded to top submissions through the monthly and annual Amazon Studios Awards.
