WordPress 2.8 Now Available for Download

Posted: 10 Jun 2009 08:34 PM PDT

wordpress logoWordPress has just released the newest version of their installable blog software: WordPress 2.8 – Baker.
The most notable addition would seem to be the ability to browse themes from within the WordPress Dashboard. With the Theme Browser, you can specify the color you want, how many columns there should be, and fixed or flexible width. You can then select and install themes match those criteria on-the-fly, without leaving the Dashboard.

Fw: (RESOURCE) Blogger LinkUp

from: Cathy Stucker, www.IdeaLady.com

I have a new, free service that could be useful to many of you. It's
called Blogger LinkUp (BLU). You can use BLU to:

* Request guest posts for your website or blog
* Request sources for interviews and round-up articles
* Offer guest posts to bloggers
* Offer products (such as books) to bloggers for review

When you sign up, you get one email daily (it is expected to go to
two eventually) listing bloggers looking for guest posts, writers
offering guest posts, etc. Just follow up with the ones that are a
good fit for you, or submit your own listing. There is no charge to
get the emails or submit a listing.

Guest posting is a great way to get links to your website, and BLU
solves the problem of finding blogs to post on. You can watch for a
blogger who requests posts on your topic, or you can submit an offer of posts.

You can learn more or start using BLU at http://BloggerLinkU p.com/

ProBlogger - 10 Golden Rules of Social Media

May 26th, 2009 (7:00am) Aliza Sherman 91 Comments

People's mandala - 12 handsI know, I know — it's a bit presumptuous of me to think I can write the "10 Golden Rules of Social Media." Then again, I've been online since 1987, consulting clients on the Internet since 1992, on the web since 1994, immersed in working on and speaking about the web since the mid-1990s, so I do feel like I've paid some dues and learned some lessons along the way.

So here are my 10 Golden Rules of Social Media to embrace, debate, pass around and refine. Have at it.
