Who is Clara Wilkerson? She Emmy award-winning producer and former news anchor.
Clara Wilkerson, a Detroit native, is an EMMY and multi award-winning video producer and screenwriter. Her career in TV started as a TV reporter in Michigan to news anchor in Florida.
Departing the hard news lifestyle in Florida, she began her own production company in Washington D.C. over ten years ago, focusing on health issues affecting women and minorities.
She walks among the "who's who" with her work featured on the OPRAH Winfrey Show and working with Dr. Oz, Law & Order co-star S. Epatha Merkerson and Nancy Brinker. She has even produced a video on legendary comedian and activist Dick Gregory which aired on TV ONE.
You may have seen some of her programs on DISCOVERY, PBS, ABC, CBS and NBC. Her work, cited in magazines such as Ladies Home Journal, Prevention Magazine and Saturday Evening Post, demonstrates the level of excellence her company provides.
As a TV anchor, reporter, screenwriter, producer for the past 20 years Clara has worked for such esteemed organizations the Ford Motor Company, American Medical Association, the American Cancer Society, the CDC, National Medical Association, US Department of Health and Human Services and more.
Mixing her passion for women's health issues, she produced a two-hour PBS film "Breast Cancer: Surviving and Winning" with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. And produced a series of PSA films entitled "ENOUGH!" for the YWCA USA on domestic violence featuring Grammy award-winning singer Patti Austin. She is currently working on pilots for several major networks.
