Navigating the Submissions Process

This class is to help aspiring writers get published by taking some of the mystery out of the submissions process.
A. Publishing Houses: Small, vs. Large, Print or E-book: This lesson will give some basic statistics and data about each type of publishing house, and list some pros and cons.
B. Etiquette and the Importance of Following Guidelines: Tips to keep writers out of the slush pile
C. Manuscript Format: Basic manuscript formatting will be discussed.
D. Dealing with Rejections/ Getting the Call: Helping writers overcome these inevitable stumbling blocks, and showing the benefits of perseverance.
Instructor Bio:
A military spouse and mother of two, Kianna Alexander is a native North Carolinian, who, like any other good belle, enjoys sweet tea and Southern hospitality. Currently, her family is stationed in Alaska, where she's surrounded by mountains and moose. She's been writing since age 11, and her first novel, Skye's the Limit, was published by Red Rose Publishing in August 2009. She's currently working on Delva's Destiny; a sequel to Skye's the Limit, as well as several other projects.
