Article Marketing Secrets - 4 Techniques to Dramatically Increase Your Site's Traffic

By Sean R Mize

There are so many ways to drive traffic to your website. There's PPC advertising, blogging, forum posting, and other traffic-generating methods. But if you want something that's very straightforward and proven to be very effective, I would recommend article marketing. The process includes writing and distributing articles to different websites particularly to article directories. When done right, article marketing can help you increase your website's traffic by up to a hundredfold.
Here are some techniques that you can use to boost the number of your page views:
  1. Do some experiments and make use of different resource box. Don't limit yourself in using one resource box for each of your article. Instead, do experiments and figure out which one is more effective. Write your resource box while taking into consideration the content of your article. It's best if you can relate your call to action to your main topic. For example, if you're writing about article marketing, you can say "Do you want to know the article marketing techniques that can help you succeed in this field? Then, visit this site." Make sure that you hyperlink the keywords that you're targeting. This is proven to have positive effect on conversion rate.
  2. Ask for feedback. Most of the time, we fail to identify our own grammar and other mistakes and sometimes, we think that our articles are perfect even if that's not the case. This is the reason why I recommend that you look at your articles through the eyes of other people. Ask a friend or a neutral third party to read your articles before you distribute them in the online arena. Know what they think about your copies. Did they find your articles very informative? Did they find them interesting? What are the things that you can do improve the overall quality of your articles?
  3. Help your readers. Some article marketers are not willing to share what they know to their readers. This is the reason why they just rewrite the articles they see online and why they write the same topics over and over again. If you want to impress your readers, this is definitely not the best route to take. Based on surveys, online users are more likely to give you positive response if you tell them something that they don't know yet or if you teach them to do things on their own. If you offer useful information all the time, you can be assured that your readers will have confidence in you and they'll trust you in no time.
  4. Make use of bullet list or short paragraphs. One thing that you need to learn about online users (your target audience) is that their attention span is very limited. Reading lengthy paragraphs can be too much work for these people. This is the reason why I recommend that you breakdown your 500-word articles into several paragraphs or bullet list. Giving your readers bite-sized chunk of texts will help in easily understanding the message that you're trying to get across. When this happens, these people will be enticed to read your articles until they reach your resource box.
