Today's Opportunity Fellowship for Emerging Digital Journalists The MJ Bear Fellowships, an initiative of the Online News Association (ONA), identify and celebrate young digital journalists, working independently or for a company or organization, who have demonstrated — through professional experimentation, research or other projects — that they deserve support for their efforts and/or vision. The fellows are up-and-coming early-career journalists inside or outside the newsroom who are just beginning to make their voices heard in the industry and working to expand the boundaries of digital news. In 2012, three fellows will be selected, two in the United States or Canada and one internationally. Fellows will earn: - Assignment of a personal ONA mentor for six months
- Registration, travel and accommodations for the 2012 Online News Association Conference & Awards Banquet (ONA12) in San Francisco, Sept. 20-22
- Recognition at the ONA12 conference
- Membership in ONA, with three years' dues paid in full
Eligibility Any working, digital journalist age 23-30 (as of Sept. 21, 2012), fluent in English, excluding full-time students. Learn more about current fellows. Interested? You can apply here. The application and all materials must be received by Thursday, May 31, 2012, 11:59 p.m. ET. |
