[Motown Writers Network] FINAL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR THE ESSENCE OF MOTOWN LITE

In advance The Essence of Motown Literary Jam staff and volunteers would love to thank all who have helped bring this to fruition.


The is the final schedule of events of all locations. The 15th events were re-scheduled to March 2010.PLEASE NOTE CHANGES TO EVENTS!!!!


All persons who have pre-paid in advance will have free entrance into the March events.

Poetry Showcases, Award and Certification Recognition, Networking opportunities, Vendoring


Nov 14th 8am to 5pm The Essence of Motown Literary Conference (All events free to Public after NOON)

  • Writing Publishing Promotion and Marketing Workshops $40 (people who pay at the door entrance fee does not cover lunch. Menus and restaurant lists will be available at registration.) These workshops start at 8:30am.
  • 5 Minute Publisher Pitches – All day registered writers will get an opportunity to pitch their book to  publishers in five minutes.
  • LITERARY MARKETPLACE OPEN TO PUBLIC FREE ADMISSION at Noon!
  • Author Genre Panel – Registered authors will get an opportunity to speak to our general public about their works, answer questions and sell during discussion sessions. These start at 1:00 pm FREE TO PUBLIC
  • Book Club Mix and Mingle – FREE TO PUBLIC - Readers and book club members are invited to come together talk about their literary groups and participant in discussions regarding literary issues in Metro Detroit. Please bring books to donate and to swap in an effort to increase literacy.
